What was the inspiration behind your Chirply design?
I’ve always loved sweets specially cupcakes and I think everyone likes to have a cute and sweet something on their desk. Weather you can eat it or not so why not make everyone smile : )
Out of the 8 color crayon box, which one did you use the most as a child?
I didn’t have a favorite color I used all of them!

How did you end up doing what you’re doing now? Did your parents/teachers want you to be a lawyer?
I think it’s my mom’s fault, jeje. She always gave me these wonderful and HUGE coloring books, and I would finished them in two days. I loved it so much! I guess since that early age I knew that I wanted to be coloring for the rest of my life. Of course my parents wanted me to have a “normal” career but I guess they were a little scared because they didn’t really knew what I was going to do. I still think they don’t really get what I do, but they are happy with my decision.

How do you promote yourself and find new work? ….hard work, networking, luck, black magic?
Hard work always, it’s the most important, without hard work you can’t go anywhere. Networking helps a lot that way you know what people want and is always nice to hear you are doing a great job it impulses you to do better.

Do you work outside your principle medium? Have you ever? Did any disasters come out of these experiments?
Sure! I have done many experiments, some were good and some were awful! jeje I have worked with watercolors, silkscreens, enamel, acrylic, gouache, wood carving, you name it! Its always important to have fun ^_^
What are you really bad at?
Playing Monopoly.

I collect bills from all the places I’ve been and I used to collect spoons until I was 15 years old. And I think I’m collecting shoes jeje.

I don’t have any idols but I think I would have loved to see Dalí and I probably would have yelled: Nice mustache!
