What was the inspiration behind your Chirply design?

It turned out to be a very romantic design but I wasn’t thinking of a valentines day card. I think it was just what I had in mind at that moment, the music I was listening to.

The blue one

How did you end up doing what you’re doing now? Did your parents/teachers want you to be a lawyer?

I’ve been drawing since I was a littler girl, I remember drawing characters and making up stories for them to keep myself entertained. But in university I took an Illustration class and that’s when I knew that illustration is what I want to do, this is what I love.

How do you promote yourself and find new work? ….hard work, networking, luck, black magic?

INTERNET! I can’t live without it. I think it’s a great way to reach a lot of people from all over the world. I spend a lot of time searching for inspiration, contests, collaborations, new illustrators, etc.

Do you work outside your principle medium? Have you ever? Did any disasters come out of these experiments?

I think it’s very important to try different styles. No matter if the result is good or bad you always learn something at the end.

Was there anything that inspired you last week?

Lately I’ve been listening to Ella Fitzgerald, her music inspires me a lot. Also I discover a great writer and illustrator named Dallas Clayton, his work is amazing.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you? Do you have any hidden talents? Do you collect anything?

I have a serious Moth phobia, and I collect all kind of pens and pencils.

If you were passing one of your idols on the street and only had time to yell out one thing, what would it be? Who would you be accosting?

What’s the most inappropriate occasion to give a card? Any idea what that card might look like or say?
